Essential Question
How can studying robotics help us learn about communities around the world? Introduction Students begin this project with an introduction to robots and robotics. Students learn what these terms mean and begin to think about different careers in robotics. Part 1: Industrial Robotics Students learn about the history of robotics in manufacturing. Students learn about the history of robotics in the automotive industry and examine which products and goods from their own communities are produced with the help of robots. Part 2: Programming and Software Students learn about different ways that robots receive commands. Students learn about simple robots that use basic remote controls as well as sophisticated robots that require complex software. Part 3: Robots in Military and Exploration This week, students learn how robots help save lives by performing tasks in places hazardous to people. Students learn about robots used to explore outer space and the deep sea. Students then study different types of robots used in military and conflict zones around the world. Part 4: Robots in Medicine Students study robots that medical professionals use to save lives. Students learn how robots are uniquely qualifies to perform delicate surgeries and how robots are being used to replace lost or damaged limbs. Part 5: Robots for Personal Use This week, students learn about robots for personal use. From personal assistants and household robots to robots that operate motor vehicles, students learn how robots are becoming more common in daily life. Part 6: Reflection Students complete a collaborative activity with their PenPals in which they apply knowledge of concepts studies throughout this project. I learned a little bit more about robotics and what we use them for in our daily lives. Also I learned what the military uses them for.

Pen-pals helps kids form different backgrounds and different places come together and help save the world first by whacking videos and then commenting with their pan-pal about what is bad about what is happening and what we will be able to do about it.

When I start robotics I knew almost nothing about robotics, except that robots were inventions created by humans to do some stuff from human nature. I learned that robots are a lot more than that, they can look like almost anything! There are many robots and some of them help the military with there duties. My penpals are really awesome there names are RaMya R. from US, Hudson B. from US, Devin D. from Canada, and Sophie M. from the United Kingdom.

I think that robots can help us learn about communities around the world because you can get to know what type of technology other communities use and other types of robots that other people may have.

Before doing this activity I knew that robots were being develoeped to help people do activity's that humans were not capable of doing or could no do easily. What I found intresting was the Da Vinci robot that could perform surgery without faltering which would be and advantage over human sugeons. My penpal said that she would prefer to be opperated on by a human surgeon verses a robot because she would trust them more even if there was a chance of a falter.

Before completing this article, I knew that robots were small or big figures designed to do a certain task that they were programmed to do.
